Total Immune Complexes
This test measures the level the total immunoglobulin G, M & A complexes. These immune complexes are formed in the normal immune system and liver. Measuring the level of immune complexes is important in evaluating both the immune system and liver function.
A depressed level of immune complexes indicates an immunodeficiency while an increased level indicates either excessive antigen- antibody presentation or liver dysfunction.
Conditions that may be evaluated include recurring or chronic infections, immunodeficiency, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal inflammation, general toxicity, chronic fatigue, autoimmunity, parasitic infection, kidney disease, malignancy and other vague, non-specific disorders.
